Project Description

Information Experts has been working closely with the EPA's Office of Radiation and Indoor Air and has provided them with a number of commercial art and graphic design services.

Efforts to date include the following:

• Materials Assessment: Evaluated existing RPD materials effectiveness in conveying messages to the public
• Print Graphics Design: Designed Center for Radiation Information logo within EPA's brand standards and set style guide for all outreach, internal (informal), and internal (formal) communications; designed actual, "live," examples of each
• Illustration: Created brand elements and communications assets from scratch, including icons systems, informational diagrams, charts
• Design Production: Managed and/or assisted with printing processes (color selection, stock image purchase, file management, and other functions)

Our communications work, in close collaboration with EPA staff, has successfully elevated the Radiation Protection Division's outreach message from one of "closed government agency" to "open information partner." Our vibrant new look clarifies that radiation is a naturally-occurring phenomenon, not unlike sunlight, that poses little threat in moderation. This insightful visual analogy has been well received and drives our outreach approach with the RPD. Together, we are designing more effective, compelling materials to help improve the nation's knowledge of radiation.
