The Director is key to helping company successfully manage their financial function. This position will work closely with the executive team to further develop the financial function and to implement financial practices that support the business needs. This position is integral to helping Information Experts successfully manage their business and takes someone with superior financial and accounting skills.
This position requires a hands-on, detail orientated individual who desires to grow with our company.
Principal Responsibilities:
Be an Information Expert demonstrating our core values and commitment to our business:
Perform in all accounting and financial functions including accounts payable; accounts receivable; cash management; general ledger; reconciliations; payroll; billing; budgeting; and financial forecasting, analysis, planning and execution
Provide proactive guidance and counsel to executive management on all financial and accounting matters with an eye towards increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial operations; work with executive management to develop and implement a financial management strategy
Establish and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures
Direct the preparation of all financial reports for internal management reporting and external reporting purposes (including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and required reports)
Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information to evaluate operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other areas influencing the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the business
Prepare and assist quarterly tax estimates, prepare year end taxes, SBA reviews, ICS Cost submissions
Interface with DCAA & GSA Auditors
Interface with bank and prepare line requests
Act as an Open Air administrator ( web –based time tracking system)
Design, develop, and implement effective internal controls for all finance and accounting processes and recommend changes to improve system and financial performance
Design and develop deliverables per business needs and expectations and present potential concepts
Ensure high quality deliverables are produced while working within budget and meeting deadlines
Assist in the identification, assessment and resolution of issues and problems
Balance and prioritize work to ensure critical items are addressed
Develop, maintain, and track financial-related measures of business success
Required Qualifications:
Must be a solid business partner who can articulate how finance supports company’s broader strategic plan and objectives
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple priorities
Keen sense of urgency and commitment to providing exceptional financial management leadership and support
Ability to understand, interpret, and respond to financial data in a dynamic environment
Ability to define financial metrics and use them to set and achieve specific performance goals
A solid understanding of information technology and the ability to guide the design and use of automated systems to improve the integration, quality, and production of accounting functions
Well-developed communication skills and the ability to maintain positive and cooperative working relations with management and employees
Outstanding analytical, attention to detail, judgment, and leadership skills
Strong ability to creatively use resources and find solutions to unique problems
Superior ability to track and communicate status, identify and resolve issues, and work within budget

Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, A/P, A/R, payroll and supporting financial/accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
Intermediate knowledge of vendor relations, subcontracting, and expense reporting
Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting required
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
CPA certification and/or MBA preferred
Must possess a good understanding of U.S. GAPP and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 internal control reporting requirements
Minimum of 5 to 8 years work experience that includes public accounting and private industry
Government contracting experience required
